Gum Tree at Sunset
A very simple illustration of standing alone. I saw this solitary Gum in a sheep grazing property outside of Mannum with no other trees for miles. It made me stop and wonder why this tree had survived or been allowed to stay for so many years. Was it a little shelter for sheep on a hot day, a reminder of the hundreds that had been cleared or somewhere the farmer would come to rest at the end of a day? Whatever the reason, it will be remembered now for a long time.
